Description: 10” x 15”. This is one of the largest and most involved gourds I have done. The Indian sun is a symbol of the giver of life. The design is pyrographyed and painted with acrylics. A faux turquoise inlay band surrounds the outside of the gourd. The gourd was opened so the outside of the gourd could be beaded, then it was resealed. Each Sun head dress has a variation of color based on the previous one. Above and between each of the Sun’s is an elk tooth and red tear drops are strung around the bottom of the design. When the gourd is handled the red tear drop beads recreate the tapping sound of the seeds that are no longer inside.
