The Decortive Gourd home of "Fruit with a little twist."
Here hard shell gourds have been transformed into several decorative styles. They have been divided into galleries by theme; some of them will fall into different galleries. All of the available gourds are for sale. I also take orders for custom gourds; however a deposit is needed on all orders. If you see something you like please feel free to contact me. I use a variety of media: carving, pyrographyed, watercolor dyes and acrylics. In most cases the different media are mixed together on the same gourd.

As I look back over the events of this year and the last few months, I am thankful for the new friends I have met, the Gourd Shows I was able to attend, and the ribbons I was able to win in competition.
The last few months have been very hard for a lot of people in my area and in our Michigan Gourd Society.
May your load be lightened and the roads you travel have few hills.
2009 Ohio Gourd Show Theme Gourd
The gourd you see here has been donated to the Greenville Annie Oakley Center in Ohio.
It won the Judges Choice Award at the show.
The portrait was done in Silverpoint, a process of drawing with sterling sliver wire on a gesso surface in place of using pencil. The scroll on the gourd is carved along with the boots and roping on the gourd. The top is trimmed in leather and studs.
